Rory O’More Bridge (1929)

A pontifical benediction on Watling Street Bridge (also known as Queen Victoria Bridge) as part of the celebration of the centenary of Catholic Emancipation in 1929. The bridge - which became know as Emancipation Bridge in the years following these celebrations - was renamed in 1939 for Rory O'More, one of the key figures from the plot to capture Dublin as part of the Irish Rebellion of 1641.
